#SIBA10 Presents Books@SIBA: the Online Guide to #RepPicks and Other Titles Featured at SIBA’s Fall 2010 Trade Show

The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) has partnered with Above the Treeline, provider of the book industry’s digital catalog Edelweiss, to provide Books@SIBA, a digital companion to their upcoming fall 2010 trade show taking place in Daytona, Florida on September 24 – 26. Books@SIBA will provide attendees, interested booksellers, bloggers, and other book industry professionals with an online resource to browse, share, tag, and order titles being featured at this year’s show.

In addition, SIBA will be introducing a Rep Picks program to allow publishers a forum for sharing and promoting the highlights from their fall and winter season lists. Participation in the Rep Picks program costs $100 for up to five titles and $25 for each additional title. Titles in the Rep Picks program will be featured prominently in Books@SIBA, and will be part of a tweetup at SIBA under the hashtag #reppicks. The hashtag for the trade show generally will be #siba10. For more information on SIBA’s Rep Picks program, visit http://www.tradeshow.sibaweb.com/exhibitors/sponsorships/26-tweet-up-a-rep

Other exhibitors and authors attending the SIBA show can include their featured titles in Books@SIBA by loading their titles into Edelweiss. Edelweiss clients can simply choose which of their titles they would like to include in Books@SIBA – no additional charges apply. Others may join Edelweiss and load their titles using our new credit card-based small publisher pricing option: $20 per month for one title, $10 per month for each additional title. For more information on how to participate, go to http://www.abovethetreeline.com/booksatsiba

“We’re excited to be able to offer an online resource like Books@SIBA to allow our members and attendees a way to search, sort, and peruse the Rep Picks titles and other titles featured at this year’s show,” said SIBA’s executive director Wanda Jewell, “In addition to the show attendees, our members who are not able to make the trip to Daytona will benefit from seeing the titles, browsing the Rep Picks selections, and participating in our tweetups.”

“After the success of Books@BEA, our online catalog to support BookExpo America, we were eager to support the regional trade associations with similar tools, and we’re thrilled that SIBA is the first to work with us on this,” said John Rubin, CEO of Above the Treeline, ”As anyone who’s been to SIBA or the other regional shows knows, the emphasis is squarely on the books and how to get more of them into the hands of readers. We’re confident that Books@SIBA will help with that mission.”

About SIBA
SIBA is a trade association which represents hundreds of bookstores and thousands of booksellers in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Mississippi.
The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance exists to empower, promote, and celebrate our core member bookstores in a spirit of partnership. “Core members” are independent, privately held, brick & mortar, commercially zoned bookstores with a retail storefront, in our region. Among our members are owners, managers and employees of independent bookstores, publishers’ representatives, publishers, wholesalers and producers of "sideline" bookstore goods. Librarians, book reviewers, writers and other "friends of the trade" are also represented in our membership.

About Above the Treeline
Above the Treeline is North America’s leading provider of collaboration-based business intelligence for the book industry. Their newest tool, Edelweiss, is an on-line interactive publisher catalog service that enhances or replaces the use of traditional hard copy publisher catalogs.  With features such as keyword search, interior images, twitter and blog tracking, title tags, and others, Edelweiss goes far beyond simple posted PDF’s to provide a buying and research tool that cannot be matched with hard copy catalogs.  Edelweiss is free to retailers and other catalog readers, requires no prior Above the Treeline affiliation, and interfaces with most bookstore POS systems.
